PUNTA GALERAS BEACHFRONT RESORT COMMUNITY will contain beachfront Boutique Hotels surrounded by private villas ranging in size from Casita or Bungalow designs to large Luxury Homes. The smaller villas are a great “Condo Alternatives” and will have private gardens and a private parking space. Some of the smaller villas will have a private swimming pool, while others can enjoy a shared community pool and social area. In most cases, the villas are laid out with 2 stories — many with a sunroof. In total, there will approximately 200 residential units — all situated in a private gated community with common area maintenance and 24-hour security. Lifestyles will vary from full-time residency (such as in retirement) to seasonal occupancy. The whole community will be designed for those who want to feel secure that their real estate investment (or home) will be safe and secure when the owners are not in residency. Within the community will be an assortment of retail stores such as a pharmacy, grocery, and hardware store for everyday needs.

Access to Las Galeras

The Dominican Republic has 6 International Airports from which to choose. The airport of choice is the Samana El Catey International Airport. It currently has wide-body airline service from Toronto and Montreal in Canada and major European cities. The Santo Domingo International Airport would be the next best choice. The drive from Santo Domingo (SDQ) to Samana El Catey (AZS) is about 1 hour and 30 minutes. The drive from El Catey to Las Galeras is also around 1 hour and 30 minutes. The remaining option would be the Puerto Plata International Airport to the west on the north coast. The drive from Puerto Plata is about 2-1/2 hours. The most popular airport in the Dominican Republic is at Punta Cana,  however, it is a lengthy drive. Rather than drive direct, the best route takes you past Santo Domingo and the Samana El Catey airport.

BEACH HOTEL – 350 rooms facing the sea with beach club, convention center, spa, gym, restaurants, yacht club, shops and multiple swimming pools and baths in natural springs that are unique in the area.

CONDOMINIUMS – The area behind the hotel is allocated to condominiums containing 2 and 3 three bedrooms that will be suitable for a second home or investment property managed through the hotel.

VILLA LOTS – There will be 150 building sites ranging in size from 600 to 1,000 m2. Punta Galeras will offer 5 different villa model designs from which to choose. There will also be architectural and engineering departments to facilitate the construction process.

CENTRAL COMMERCIAL CENTER – In addition to the beachfront hotels, there will be a 66-room boutique hotel that will also contain small businesses and apartments. It will be an added attraction for Punta Galeras and be a special place full of fun activities and more recreation.

ECOLOGICAL PATHS – This master planned community will have an extensive network of green space areas allocated to “Ecological Trails” which will be approximately 4 kilometers in length. Thus, everything within the entire community can be walked without the need of a motor vehicle.Therefore, no matter where you are in this secure gated community, you can walk to everything — including the beach.

SPORTS – The area to the rear of the community will have sporting activities to include 4 Tennis Courts; 2 Volleyball Courts; Semi-Olympic Size Swimming Pool; Children’s Play Area; and Tropical Gardens.

OTHER FACILITIES – Also included as part of the community are a Heliport with capacity for 3 helicopters; and Administrative Building with an engineering department, cafeteria, and first-aid station. There will also be a floating marina with a capacity for 40 boats.

The architects of Punta Galeras have designed five different villa models, adapted to the needs of the environment, contemplating large social spaces and areas to share with the family outdoors. Each buyer can choose the model that best fits their needs. Should the buyer request modifications to the designs, our architects will be able to assist them, under contract for this service, with the assurance that they will have expert counseling that respects the pre-established architectural guidelines provided by Punta Galeras. The buyer can also propose their own design as long as it complies with the aforementioned architectural guidelines and is approved by the Architectural Council. Pre-construction pricing will range between $1,500 and $1,750 per square meter (m2) for completed villas — depending on unit size and location. Financing will be available. Individual building sites are also available for sale at this time and the price is $150 /m2.
